Family Tasks

Years 3/4: Integrated Curriculum

  • Plan out a healthy playlunch or break snack foods for each member of your family for a whole week. Talk over your choices with an adult.
  • See if you can find someone older who can teach you how to play the game “Elastics”.
  • Investigate your pantry. List 5 healthy foods. Put them in order from lowest to highest according to their sugar content (read the label). Talk about your results with an adult.
  • Organise a family championship of the game “Guess Who”. If you don’t have that game, talk with an adult about a game that you have that you can use for this activity.
  • Keep track of the time the sun rises in the morning and sets at night each day for a week. Talk about why it is different each day with an adult.
  • The Australian flag is not symmetrical. What does symmetrical mean? Can you find flags from three countries around the world that are symmetrical?
  • Estimate how long it will take you to run up the corner of your street and back to your house again three times. Ask someone to time you. How many minutes difference was there between your estimation and your actual time?
  • Find someone who can teach you how to knit.
