Prep, Year 1: Numeracy Tasks

• What is your house number? Draw your letterbox with the number on it.
• Learn your phone number.
• Ask an adult for some coins. How many different ways can you make 20 cents?
• How many cars are there at your house? How many tyres are? How many windscreen wipers?
• Make an obstacle course in the back yard by going over three things, under one thing, through one thing and between two things.
• Go for a walk along your street with a family member. Identify the even house numbers and the odd house numbers.
• Five people will be eating dinner at your house tonight. Help your family set the table.
• Where could you stand in this room so that the door is to your left / right? Now try a different room.
