Enrolments
Carranballac P–9 College welcomes enrolment enquiries from prospective families. Enrolments are managed in accordance with the Victorian Department of Education's Enrolment and Placement policies.
Before You Apply
Please read the following before submitting an enrolment application:
- Submitting an enrolment application does not constitute an offer or confirmation of enrolment.
- Enrolments are assessed in accordance with the Department's Enrolment and Placement policies.
- The College may request documentation to verify your child's permanent residential address and other information provided in your application.
- Where further information or verification is required, assessment of your application may be delayed until that process is complete.
- Out-of-zone applications are subject to the Department's Priority Placement Order and available capacity, and are not guaranteed.
Once an enrolment offer has been made and accepted and the enrolment process is complete, the College will provide written confirmation.
Parent/Carer Responsibility
- Parents/carers are responsible for ensuring the information provided in an enrolment application is accurate and current.
- All Relevant adults Including emergency contacts should be consulted regarding the enrolment where required.
- For Student safety purposes, any relevant parenting or court orders affecting the student should be disclosed to the College.
- Only one enrolment application should be submitted for a student, unless Department procedures provide otherwise.
Where parents/carers disagree about an enrolment, the College's principal may need to consider the child's education and wellbeing in deciding whether to defer or accept the enrolment, consistent with the Department's enrolment form.

Permanent Residential Address
Enrolment is based on your child's permanent residential address — not simply an address nominated for enrolment purposes. Where a child lives across multiple addresses, the Department generally treats their permanent residence as the address at which they spend the majority of weekdays.
The College may seek evidence to verify your child's permanent residential address. Providing an address within the Carranballac zone does not, by itself, establish eligibility for enrolment.
Find my School: https://www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au/
Where the College requests additional evidence to verify a student's permanent residential address, an enrolment offer may not be made until the College is satisfied that the address information provided is accurate.
See : https://www2.education.vic.gov.au/pal/enrolment/guidance/enrolment-process-documentation-and-other-requirements for full details.
Documentation that may be requested includes (but isn't limited to):
- Rates notice
- Lease or rental bond receipt
- Contract of sale
- Utilities bill
- Centrelink or electoral roll documentation
- Insurance documentation
Residential address Checklist (PDF)
Documents must show the parent/carer's name and a residential address consistent with the enrolment application.
Please note: the College does not retain copies of documents used solely to verify an address. In line with current Department guidance, these are destroyed once the verification process is complete.
